SHADE-SL receives a Japanese envoy

Today was a truly significant day for Self Help And Development Everywhere (SHADE)  as we had the honor of receiving and welcoming Mr. Kanda Hibiki, the Grant Coordinator for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGHSP) from the Embassy of Japan for Sierra Leone based in Ghana, to the Kargbulor Community. His visit was a special occasion, marking the official inspection of the Kargbulor Community Primary School a crucial educational facility that was constructed by SHADE-SL with funding form the Embassy and the people of Japan through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGHSP).

Leading the SHADE delegation was the Director of SHADE-SL, Alhaji Kolleh Yillah, accompanied by James Finoh (Logistics Officer), Kadija Koroma (Finance Officer), and our hardworking interns, Yusif Conteh and Mariama Blessings Ibrahim.

Mr. Hibiki’s presence underscores the Embassy of Japan’s steadfast dedication to enhancing access to quality education in rural Sierra Leone. The envoy thanked both the community and SHADE-SL for maintaining the school and encouraged them to insert more efforts to ensure that the school serves its purpose. For the Kargbulor community, this school represents more than just a structure it stands as a symbol of hope, a hub for learning, and a pathway to opportunities for countless children in the years to come.

At SHADE, we are wholeheartedly committed to transforming lives through sustainable, community-focused development, and we want to express our sincere gratitude to the Embassy of Japan for their invaluable partnership. Together, we are paving the way for a future where education empowers individuals and communities to flourish.
